A.B Motors operates an established automotive retail showroom in Brisbane, offering customers a range of quality vehicles and related services. We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to oversee the showroom's day-to-day retail operations, lead the customer-facing team and support the continued growth of the business.

About the position The Retail Manager will be responsible for the effective operation of the automotive showroom, including staff supervision, customer service, stock presentation, retail performance, budgets and compliance. This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, commercial awareness and experience managing a retail setting.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Plan, organise and manage the day-to-day operations of the automotive retail showroom. Develop and implement retail strategies to achieve revenue, profitability and customer-service targets.
- Monitor showroom performance, retail results, operating costs and relevant business performance indicators.
- Manage the presentation, availability and movement of vehicle stock within the showroom.
- Coordinate vehicle pricing, promotional displays and retail campaigns in consultation with senior management.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and liaise with suppliers, wholesalers and other business partners.
- Recruit, train, roster, supervise and support showroom and retail staff.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor employee performance and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Establish customer-service standards and appropriately resolve customer concerns or complaints.

- Review customer demand, retail trends and competitor activity to support purchasing, pricing and promotional decisions.
- Manage retail budgets, expenditure, transactions and internal reporting.




- Ensure appropriate procedures are followed for deposits, payments, vehicle documentation and record-keeping.
- Maintain compliance with applicable consumer, workplace health and safety, privacy and automotive retail requirements.
- Implement business policies and procedures and provide operational reports to senior management.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

Qualifications and experience To be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A relevant Diploma-level or higher qualification in business, management, retail management or a related discipline; and/or substantial relevant employment experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience in retail management or a closely related management position.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff and day-to-day retail operations.
- Strong knowledge of retail performance, stock control, budgeting and customer-service practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing operational priorities.
- Sound computer skills and experience using retail, inventory or customer-management systems.
- Full Australian working rights.

Previous management experience within an automotive showroom, vehicle dealership or comparable high-value retail environment will be highly regarded. What we offer
