About the Role

Securecorp is currently seeking motivated and professional Security Officers to join our team at the iconic Southgate Retail Precinct in Melbourne's CBD.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Security Officer to join a busy and professional security team, with the opportunity to develop your skills and progress into Control Room operations.

We are seeking Security Officers who are confident working in a dynamic retail environment and are passionate about providing exceptional customer service while maintaining a safe and secure environment.

The successful candidate will primarily work as a Security Officer across the precinct, with the opportunity to undertake Control Room duties as required. This role is ideally suited to security professionals who hold the relevant Control Room licence/endorsement and are looking to expand their experience and career opportunities within the security industry.

Flexible shifts are available across days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the Southgate security team,



your responsibilities may include:

- Providing a professional and highly visible security presence throughout the site.
- Delivering exceptional customer service to tenants, retailers, contractors, and members of the public.
- Conducting routine patrols of the precinct and surrounding areas.
- Monitoring CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and other security technology.
- Responding promptly to incidents, emergencies, alarms, and customer enquiries.
- Managing access control and enforcing site procedures.
- Completing accurate incident reports and maintaining detailed records.
- Identifying potential risks and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment.
- Assisting with Control Room operations, including CCTV monitoring, alarm response, communications, and coordination of security activities.
- Progressively taking on Control Room responsibilities as required and in accordance with site procedures.

Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current Victorian Security Licence.
- A current Control Room endorsement/licence.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience in the security industry, preferably within a retail or commercial environment.
- Previous Control Room experience will be highly regarded.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- A professional approach to conflict resolution and incident management.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively monitor and respond to incidents.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
