In this role, you'll: Join our Traffic Facilities (Regional Delivery & Statewide Services) team within our Road Maintenance and Resilience Division.
As a Roadworker, you will work as part of an internal works crew and external contractors in the delivery of road maintenance and renewal projects across the NSW State, Regional and Local network to ensure delivery in accordance with time, quality and scope requirements.
This will primarily include road markings, signs and traffic control systems (TCS) projects.
You will:
- Perform maintenance and manual labouring tasks using plant and equipment and powered and non-powered hand tools
- Undertake road maintenance activities which will primarily involve but is not limited to: Sign and markings installations.
- Work collaboratively with the team including Team Leaders and Works Supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations and tasks as well as resolve issues that may arise
- Contribute to finding solutions to improve productivity and output during daily team meetings.
- Ensure safety is front and centre when performing daily activities and all environmental, quality controls are implemented on site.
- Keep up to date with WHS legislation and policies and procedures as it relates to minimising risk and keeping to safe work standards.
- Work a 9-day fortnight roster.

About You We’re seeking a team-oriented worker who has an eye for detail and is used to working in similar environments.
You are a practical thinker, quick learner and outstanding communicator who enjoys being physically active performing outdoor manual tasks involving the use of hand tools and equipment within a team setting.
You must hold the following qualifications:
- White Card
- Current driver licence
- Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control qualifications – or be willing to acquire within 3 months.
You will live within 100km radius of the Waratah works depot and are prepared to work outside normal working hours, attend callouts, scheduled night work and travel across the district and work away from home when needed. While not required, it will be beneficial if you have previous experience in delivering road marking and / or signage related works.
