You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key comptetencies as well as your knowledge and experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge appropriate to the position with emphasis on sound ability in techniques relevant to clinical microbiology.
- Ability to follow instructions, and work conscientiously and accurately with minimum local supervision.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills, and the ability to work alone and co-operatively in a team environment.
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement, and an understanding of the basis of laboratory Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs.
- Demonstrate exceptional time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet service delivery deadlines.
- Effectively contribute to a secure & positive work environment and team culture.
In this role, you will:
- Perform a broad range of routine and specialised diagnostic testing for mycobacteria, supporting the delivery of high-quality reference laboratory services.
- Undertake complex technical investigations and procedures, applying independent decision-making, sound scientific judgement and problem-solving skills.
- Contribute to the accurate, timely and effective delivery of mycobacteriology services and support quality outcomes across the laboratory.
