Position: Second In Charge Expected Start: October 2026

Location: BFS Thirroul OOSH

Rostered Hours: Monday to Friday - 6.5 hours per day Employment Status: Permanent, Part‑Time

As a Second In Charge,



you'll play an important role in creating a positive, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Working alongside the Director, you'll help deliver meaningful experiences for children while building strong, respectful relationships with families and fellow educators. You'll have the opportunity to contribute your own ideas to the program and support the day-to-day operation of BFS Thirroul OOSH. In this role, you'll also help ensure the service remains compliant with BFS Children's Services policies and procedures, the National Quality Framework, and Child Protection legislation. What Your Work Will Involve

- Providing quality education and care to all children
- Contributing to planning educational programs that supports a child’s learning to meet their goals
- Building strong relationships with children, families, and the community

What You Need to Succeed

- Diploma of Children’s Services or a related qualification (desirable)
- Experience as a support worker, SLSO, OOSH Educator/2IC, or other roles working with school-aged children
- Commitment to making sure the children in our care are safe and healthy
- Dedication to improving the lives and minds of children, families, and the community
- A fun-loving attitude and big smile!

This starts with ensuring the people we select to work here will contribute to our child secure culture. So during the recruitment process we conduct a range of pre-employment checks. To assist us with this, you will need:

- A cleared valid for paid work, NSW working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- A cleared National Criminal Record Check
- Demonstrated commitment to protecting all children from abuse, harm and neglect.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families.
- Evidence of completion of the National Child Safety Training Foundation Course
- Details of a minimum two referees, where one must be a manager or supervisor at your current or most recent workplace.
