Duties
n
n
- Cutting thin glass by hand
n
- Processing glass by use of machines
n
- Manually moving glass
n
- Smoothing rough edges
n
- Assessing glass and glazing requirements
n
- Preparing and installing double glazing
n
- Assembling glass products
n
- Installing glass and mirrors in windows, skylights, display cases, interior walls and ceilings
n
- Determining type and dimensions of glass required
n
- Measuring and marking glass for cutting
n
- Loading and unloading glass in preparation for travel to clients
n
- Cutting along patterns and templates
n
- Smoothing rough edges using belt sanders and smoothing wheels
n
- Coating, cutting, etching, trimming, and treating glass to achieve special effects
n
- Identifying and implementing the work health and safety procedures required to complete tasks safely
n
- Using and understanding the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
needed to undertake all tasks and duties
n
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in valuable and safe condition
n
n
Special Skills / Additional Requirements
n
n
- Applicants will be prioritized who ideally have Formal qualifications (AQF Certificate III in glass and glazing) and with 2 - 3 years of practical experience.
n
- Ability to caulk glass windows & doors effectively and neatly
n
- Capable of handling high volume window caulking with consistent quality
n

Position Details
n
Position is available full time, 38 hours/week but applicant must be available for 6 days a week and willing to work odd hours (Weekend & early morning/late night shifts).
