Tax is at the heart of our platform. Our technology makes completing a tax return simple and convenient, while our accounting team provides the skilled expertise behind the platform — reviewing returns, helping clients with more complex tax matters and making sure we get things right.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can take ownership of client work, provide strong technical support to the team and help us continually improve the way we deliver tax and accounting services.

What you'll be doingAs a Senior Accountant, you'll have a hands-on role across tax, accounting, client service and team development.

You will

- Prepare and review individual, sole trader, company, trust, partnership and SMSF tax returns
- Prepare and review financial statements, BAS and other compliance work
- Handle more complex individual and business tax matters
- Review work prepared by accountants, junior team members and seasonal staff
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to the tax team
- Communicate directly with clients to resolve tax and accounting queries
- Assist with tax planning and general business advisory matters
- Liaise with the ATO and assist with ATO queries, reviews and other tax matters
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and documentation
- Identify issues before they become problems and take ownership of resolving them
- Help improve our internal processes, systems and tax workflows
- Work closely with the General Manager of Tax throughout the year

What we're looking forWe're looking for someone who is technically capable but also practical, accountable and comfortable working in a fast-moving technology focussed environment. Ideally, you'll have:




- 4+ years' Australian public practice or tax accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of Australian individual and business taxation
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns
- Experience with companies, trusts, partnerships and sole traders
- Strong understanding of CGT, GST, deductions and general tax compliance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to review the work of others
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A willingness to mentor and support less experienced accountants
- CA/CPA qualification, or progress towards qualification, highly regarded
- Ability to take ownership of work items, issues and resolutions
