Senior Agronomist

The role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Agronomist to join our Agricultural Services team, based at either Harwood or Broadwater. In this senior role, you will influence grower outcomes, support innovation, and help shape the future of sugarcane production across NSW.

Reporting to the Agricultural Manager, you will play a key role in supporting NSW sugarcane growers to improve productivity, profitability, soil health and long term farm sustainability through the delivery of high quality agronomic advice and extension services.

Key responsibilities include:

Working closely with growers, industry organisations, researchers and agricultural service providers, you will:

- Provide specialist agronomic advice to sugarcane growers across a range of production systems
- Support growers with crop establishment, nutrition, variety selection, pest and disease management and irrigation practices
- Promote soil health, nutrient efficiency and sustainable farming systems
- Assist with the evaluation and adoption of new sugarcane varieties and emerging technologies
- Develop and manage extension activities, field demonstrations, grower workshops and information sessions
- Coordinate and participate in industry research projects, field trials and demonstration sites
- Build strong relationships with growers and key industry stakeholders to encourage the adoption of best practice farming methods
- Support initiatives aimed at retaining and expanding sugarcane production within the region

We are looking for:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or a related discipline




- Proven experience in strategic supply chain, transport, logistics and 3PL management
- Demonstrated success negotiating contracts and driving commercial outcomes
- Strong analytical skills, including financial modelling, cost to serve analysis and business case development
- Experience delivering measurable supply chain improvements and cost savings
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Strong commercial acumen, problem solving capability and strategic thinking
- Well developed computer skills, including advanced Excel capability
