Join a market-leading organisation in Australia's dynamic entertainment industry, where tradition meets innovation in delivering exceptional experiences to their valued clientele. Operating premium events and exclusive experiences that bring together passionate enthusiasts and industry professionals, this organisation has established itself as a cornerstone of Australian entertainment culture. They are renowned for fostering career advancement opportunities while maintaining a solid commitment to employee wellbeing and professional development. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to build a dedicated AML/CTF compliance function from the ground up. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll have the mandate, the seniority and the autonomy to shape this function your way. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, implementing and maintaining the organisation's AML/CTF program end to end
- Completing and keeping current the ML/TF risk assessment across customers, products, channels and jurisdictions
- Setting customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence standards and overseeing their application
- Managing AUSTRAC enrolment,
reporting obligations and regulatory correspondence
- Assessing escalations and alerts, and making decisions on suspicious matters within required timeframes
- Writing practical policies, procedures and controls that work with how the business actually operates
- Delivering training across the business, from operational teams through to senior leadership
- Reporting on compliance performance, incidents and emerging risk to the CFO and senior management
To be considered, you will bring 10–12+ years in AML/CTF, financial crime or regulatory compliance, including time as the accountable senior compliance leader or equivalent. You are degree qualified, with formal AML/CTF or compliance certification held. You are comfortable building a program from a blank page and translating regulation into something the business can genuinely apply, and you communicate well with people who don't work in compliance. This role suits someone who wants senior scope in a condensed week rather than a step back in responsibility. Please apply directly or contact Jenny Po at Lawson Elliott on (02) 8274 0209 8274 0209) for a confidential discussion. Ref: JP19111
