CLIENT

Our client is a significant Australian energy business with a substantial operating asset base and ambitious long-term plans. This role will strengthen the sophistication, efficiency and commercial impact of their long-term planning and economic modelling capability.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Planning & Performance, you will own critical long-range economic models and partner across Finance, Operations and Commercial to integrate production, operational, capital and financial assumptions into robust life-of-field / long-term asset and portfolio models. You will also undertake sophisticated DCF, NPV, IRR, scenario, sensitivity and valuation analysis, the basis of which will directly influence capital allocation, portfolio optimisation and major investment decisions.

You will become a trusted commercial partner – someone stakeholders seek out to challenge assumptions, evaluate alternatives and understand the economic impact of key decisions. Importantly,



you will have the scope to challenge, improve and transform the existing modelling setting – making it simpler, faster, more robust and more insightful.

SUCCESS REQUIRES ....

We are looking beyond someone who is simply technically strong. Success requires an experienced commercial/economic analyst with exceptional modelling capability AND equally strong business partnering skills. You must be able to engage credibly with engineers, operational leaders, commercial teams and executives, ask intelligent questions and respectfully challenge assumptions.

You must have a tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline and you must bring 5 years’ sophisticated financial/economic modelling experience within oil & gas, resources, mining or another asset-intensive environment.

Candidates who have built or owned life-of-mine, life-of-field or long-duration asset models will be particularly attractive.
