About the role:
As a Senior Developer, you will provide high level technical expertise, support and advice for Oracle middleware, application and database development across multiple teams delivering ICT enabled solutions in the digital Health Branch, eHealth Division. Th roles is focussed on the analysis, design development and review of SQL/PL/SQL code and shell scripting; the provision and support of development and maintenance activities and the support of production applications and software releases.
The Senior Developer, BreastScreen Queensland Systems Support team in Queensland Imaging Informatics Support Unit (QIISU), Digital Health Branch (DHB), eHealth Queensland (eHQ) reports to the Manager, BreastScreen Queensland Systems Support.
Your key responsibilites include:
- Administer, maintain and support production enterprise applications, databases and software releases.
- Provision, maintain and support development, testing and production environments, supporting application development, continuous integration, testing and release activities.
- Develop, review and maintain SQL, PL/SQL and shell scripting solutions to support enterprise applications and operational services.
- Ensure end to end service delivery for enterprise systems, including analysis, development, testing, implementation and ongoing support.
- Install, configure, test, optimise, implement and commission software components required to support application development and operational services.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, reports and recommendations on the operational performance and continuous improvement of enterprise applications and supporting technologies Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships internally and externally to ensure the alignment and integration of operational services, application enhancements, project priorities and business changes.
- Provide high level technical skills in the analysis of system issues and the design, development and implementation of appropriate solutions and improvements, including review of software design solutions and data structures required to support business outcomes.
Role fit: You will bring high-level experience across application development and operations, with strong expertise in Oracle Forms/Reports, WebLogic, Tomcat, Oracle APEX, ORDS, Oracle 19c, SSL certificates, Active Directory and UNIX/Windows environments. You will have advanced SQL, PL/SQL and Shell Scripting skills, with the ability to design, develop, review and tune database objects and solutions.
Your solid technical analysis and solution design capability will enable you to provide technical direction, support enterprise and clinical applications, and deliver effective integrations within a large and complex service environment.
You will demonstrate a commitment to governance, risk management, ITIL service management and continuous improvement, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality outcomes, managing competing priorities and service requirements, and building effective relationships across organisational boundaries. Strong written and verbal communication skills, together with the ability to negotiate, advise and influence senior business and technical stakeholders, will be essential to your success.
