Role Description The Senior Draftsperson is a full-time, in office role based in Rowville, VIC. This position is responsible for preparing detailed mechanical services and air conditioning drawings, including layouts, sections, and schematics, in line with project specifications and industry standards.

The Senior

Draftsperson collaborates closely with engineers, project managers, and site teams to clarify design requirements, resolve coordination issues, and ensure documentation supports efficient installation and commissioning. Daily tasks include updating and maintaining drawing registers, incorporating mark-ups and design changes, checking drawings for accuracy and compliance, and supporting the tender and construction documentation process. The role also involves mentoring junior draftspersons,



contributing to continuous improvement of drafting standards, and supporting quality and safety objectives across projects.

Qualifications

- Strong drafting skills with proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) and experience producing mechanical services documentation for commercial and industrial projects.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical services design principles, and relevant Australian Standards, building codes, and industry guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural, structural, and services drawings, with strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in mentoring or guiding junior draftspersons and contributing to consistent drafting standards and workflows.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Relevant technical qualification in drafting, mechanical engineering, building services, or a related discipline; experience in HVAC or air conditioning contracting is highly regarded.
