Senior Endpoint Security Infrastructure Engineer

Contract | Canberra, ACT | Hybrid | EL1 Equivalent | Baseline Clearance

We are seeking an experienced Senior Endpoint Security Infrastructure Engineer to join a Platform Services team supporting enterprise ICT infrastructure and endpoint security environments.

This role is ideal for a technically strong security and infrastructure professional with hands-on experience across endpoint security, Windows Server, identity management, vulnerability remediation and enterprise security platforms .

- Working Arrangement: Hybrid
- Contract: 6 months initially
- Extensions: 2 × 12 months
- Start Date: October 2026
- Level: Senior / EL1 equivalent
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Security Clearance: Baseline
- Closing Date: 16 September 2026

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support enterprise endpoint security platforms, including application control, endpoint protection, EDR, vulnerability management, host-based firewalls and device control .
- Configure and maintain Airlock Digital, Symantec Endpoint Protection and Microsoft Defender environments.
- Manage security policies, application whitelisting, application unblocking, antivirus exclusions and endpoint security configurations.
- Respond to CVEs, vendor advisories, vulnerabilities and security findings , including impact assessment, troubleshooting, remediation, testing and change implementation.
- Support enterprise Windows Server environments, including Server Core.
- Perform administration and troubleshooting across Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, PKI, DFS, SCOM, SCCM/MECM and Intune .
- Support Windows Server lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, patching, hardening and modernisation.
- Support enterprise identity management platforms, including Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) and Unify Broker .
- Support privileged access management solutions such as CyberArk and Secret Server .




- Provide technical advice and troubleshooting for identity, authentication, access and privileged access issues.
- Contribute to security uplift, vulnerability remediation, platform lifecycle management, technical documentation and knowledge transfer.

Essential Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience administering and supporting enterprise endpoint security platforms .
- Robust experience with Airlock Digital, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management or comparable enterprise security products.
- Experience managing CVEs, vulnerabilities, security findings, vendor advisories and production security issues .
- Strong understanding of Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Active Directory
- Entra ID
- DNS
- PKI
- DFS
- SCOM
- SCCM/MECM
- Intune
- Azure Virtual Desktop
- Strong troubleshooting, change management and technical problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills

- Knowledge of Australian Government cyber security requirements, including ISM, Essential Eight and ACSC security guidance .
- Experience working within an Australian Government or similarly regulated environment.
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration, patching and security hardening.
- Experience with Ansible or similar automation/configuration management tools.
- Infrastructure-as-code, source control and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and Azure Arc .
- Knowledge of IAM and PAM , including MIM, Unify Broker and Entra ID.
- Experience with CyberArk and/or Secret Server .
- Strong technical documentation, SOP and design documentation experience.
