Your New Role
We're looking for an experienced L1 Risk & Compliance professional to join our Member Growth division as Senior Manager, Retirement Risk & Compliance. This is a high-profile partnering role at the forefront of one of Aware Super's most important strategic priorities: winning in Retirement.
As the trusted risk and compliance partner to the Retirement business, you'll work alongside senior leaders from strategy through to execution, helping shape, influence and enable the delivery of innovative retirement products, services and member solutions. Your focus will be on finding practical, commercially viable solutions that support growth and innovation while ensuring alignment with regulatory obligations, risk appetite and member expectations. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming Aware Super's retirement proposition and improving outcomes for members at one of the most exciting times in the business's evolution.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Partner with Retirement, Product and Delivery teams to provide practical and commercially aware risk and compliance advice on strategic initiatives and new product development.
- Support the design and implementation of effective controls across products,
processes and delivery activities.
- Lead and facilitate risk assessments for new retirement products, proposition changes, delivery activities and material business decisions.
- Ensure risks, controls, obligations, issues, risk acceptances and related actions are captured, maintained and reported through the GRC system.
- Lead and support incident management for retirement-related incidents, potential compliance breaches and control failures, ensuring timely assessment, escalation and remediation.
How do you exceed our expectations?
- Strong knowledge of risk and compliance in superannuation, wealth management, banking or other highly regulated financial services environments, with practical experience supporting business delivery.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with product, strategy or delivery teams to support new product development, product governance, product change and go-to-market activity.
- Experience with regulatory engagement, including drafting regulatory communications, preparing responses to regulator enquiries and coordinating input across Legal, Line 2 Risk and Compliance and business stakeholders.
- Strong capability in risk assessment, control design, GRC reporting, incident management, breach assessment, root cause analysis and remediation oversight.
- Working knowledge of supplier due diligence, third party risk management and operational resilience considerations for externally supported products or services.
