We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support ADENCO’s SMP and Civil construction delivery at Brockman Syncline 1 in the West Pilbara. The project includes structural, mechanical and civil works across multiple work fronts, supporting a major greenfields development within Rio Tinto’s Greater Brockman Hub.

This role is responsible for safe, efficient and technically disciplined delivery of field engineering activities, overseeing planning, sequencing, quality compliance and construction support. The Project Engineer works closely with supervisors, subcontractors and Rio Tinto operations to maintain progress and ensure alignment with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and sequence daily SMP and Civil construction activities across multiple work fronts.
- Interpret IFC drawings, specifications and engineering packages. Manage RFIs, TQs, redlines and engineering queries.

- Coordinate subcontractors, supervisors and crews, resolving technical issues and maintaining progress.
- Track progress, quantities and productivity to support reporting and planning.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including ITPs, QA records and MDR deliverables.




- Support the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager with scheduling, procurement and interface management.
- Liaise with Rio Tinto and other contractors to manage interfaces and site access.

- Maintain strong field presence, lead safe work practices and ensure compliance with HSE expectations.

About You You are a hands‑on engineer with experience delivering SMP or Civil construction projects in mining or heavy‑industrial environments. You are organised, proactive and confident working in a field‑based role with multiple work fronts. You communicate clearly, build strong relationships with supervisors and contractors and maintain high standards of safety, quality and documentation. You are comfortable working within Rio Tinto systems and thrive in a structured FIFO roster.

Qualifications and Experience

- Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering SMP or Civil construction projects in mining environments.
- Strong technical capability in foundations, concrete, structural steel and mechanical interfaces.
- Experience preparing engineering documentation, QA records and MDRs, and managing RFIs and TQs.
- Familiarity with Rio Tinto standards, procedures and site requirements is highly regarded.
- Strong commitment to safety and operational discipline.
