The Development Coordination Authority (DCA) has been established to strengthen how NSW Government agencies work together within the development assessment system. Acting as a central coordination point for agency advice, the Authority will streamline referral processes, resolve issues earlier and deliver clearer, more consistent input to consent authorities—supporting faster, better-informed planning outcomes across NSW. Joining the DCA presents a unique opportunity to help shape and embed a new operating model for planning coordination, contributing directly to system reform and the delivery of housing, infrastructure and sustainable communities across the State.
The role
At its core, this role is about supporting the Executive Director’s office to make things happen. You’ll provide high level executive support -coordinating priorities, preparing briefings and correspondence, and acting as a key point of contact for the office. You'll turn data, insights and stakeholder input into practical outcomes that support better planning and development decisions across NSW, and help the senior leaders stay on top of a fast-moving agenda.
You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, executive office environment where priorities shift and deadlines are tight. Balancing urgent requests with ongoing work, you’ll manage risks, communicate openly with stakeholders, and keep projects moving while maintaining accuracy, quality and confidentiality. What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes within tight timeframes in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues, adapt to change and develop practical, evidence‑based solutions.
- Proven experience engaging and working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to drive outcomes and build shared understanding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly present analysis, advice and recommendations to varied audiences.
What is an essential requirement:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
