Primary objective The Senior Project Officer contributes to corporate and digital service development through project management, governance and reporting. Lead the development and implementation of advice and guidance material and manage the delivery of projects as directed to support the activities of the agency initiatives. Lead complex research and analysis in relation to development,

coordination, implementation and evaluation of Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) processes and initiatives.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Lead, undertake, coordinate,



develop and manage projects and change management plans on behalf of the agency to contribute to the achievement of the strategic priorities of DCDD and NTG, including the identification of risks and benefits of complex and sensitive issues.
- Provide critical evidence-based analysis and advice through research, analysis and evaluation on a wide range of issues and programs, contemporary practices and emerging trends that may impact on DCDD and client serviceability.
- Develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; establish relationships supporting robust discussions and evaluation and enabling the identification of negotiated outcomes and DCDD policy positions.
- Prepare, review and coordinate a range of high-level documentation, including Ministerial, Cabinet, Legislative Assembly and

DCDD executive briefings, project and change management plans and activities to implement new processes or initiatives.

- Supervise and support business services staff to achieve high quality and timely delivery of projects, processes and initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve coordination, efficiencies and effectiveness across the department and actively participate as a senior member of the Business Services team.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Proven experience in managing,



supervising or coordinating programs of work to deliver outcomes against strategic priorities,

including demonstrated ability to manage and deliver complex projects.

- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and report on business support activities, including preparation and presentation of financial information, using an evidence-based approach to provide appropriate strategic and operational advice to management and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement and provide high quality advice to agency executive and stakeholders in relation to agency services, policies and processes, and sector-wide initiatives.
- Proven high level written and oral communication skills with evidence-based research and analytical skills and experience in the preparation of high-level documentation including briefings, business cases, reports and project plans.
- High level collaboration skills with the ability to relate complex issues in a manner suited to the target audience.
- Demonstrated experience working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives to achieve results.
- Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates the Department of Corporate and Digital Development (DCDD) values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.

Desirable

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
