GTE is hiring a Senior Proposals & Estimating Engineer with an Electrical or Control Systems engineering background to support the development of technical proposals across a diverse range of sectors.

This role suits a highly organised, analytical professional who values structure, accuracy, and accountability, taking ownership of the full proposal lifecycle to ensure submissions are compliant and commercially sound. Working closely with Engineering, Sales, and key stakeholders, you will deliver high-quality proposals that reflect GTE’s technical capability and support sustainable project outcomes. It’s an ideal opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to remain technically connected while gaining greater exposure to the commercial side of engineering and how work is won.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the full proposal lifecycle from opportunity qualification through to submission.
- Deliver high-quality proposals for multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Supporting the Client Partnership Director in scoping sessions and client presentations
- Establish bid strategies aligned with client requirements and commercial objectives
- Plan resourced proposal schedules
- Gather and validate technical, commercial and pricing inputs
- Support Business Development activities as required, including opportunity shaping, client documentation and pursuit planning
- Conduct detailed quality and compliance reviews
- Identify and manage commercial risk, including assumptions, exclusions and scope clarity
- Maintain consistency across proposal templates and documentation




- Support pricing strategy and bid decisions
- Lead sales-to-project handover following award

Experience & Capability
- Experience with end-to-end ownership of proposal, bid or tender management within an engineering environment
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or a related discipline (desirable)
- Highly analytical, task-oriented and disciplined, with strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy and quality
- Demonstrated experience in contract review and commercial risk management, ensuring compliance and mitigation across tender submissions
- Ability to manage competing priorities within defined timeframes while maintaining high integrity in all deliverables
- Transparent, confident written communicator with a structured, disciplined approach to documentation and stakeholder engagement
