Variety Victoria supports children and young people who are sick, disadvantaged or living with disability to overcome barriers and reach their full potential. Through grants, programs and experiences, Variety helps children participate more fully in school, community life and everyday childhood, creating meaningful and lasting impact for families across Victoria.
Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, the Philanthropy Manager will lead and grow Variety Victoria’s philanthropic income across trusts and foundations, major gifts, collective giving and other high-value giving streams. Managing a portfolio of key relationships, this role is responsible for strategy, pipeline development, donor engagement, proposals, stewardship and income performance, with a clear mandate for growth.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced philanthropy professional to grow Variety Victoria's established philanthropy portfolio, while developing major gifts as an important longer-term income stream. Leading the Philanthropy Coordinator and working closely with senior stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to deepen and expand supporter relationships, uncover new avenues for philanthropic investment, and create compelling pathways for donors and funders to increase their impact over time through Variety's work.
About YOU
- Significant experience in philanthropy,
major gifts or high-value fundraising,
- Proven success securing and growing income from major donors, trusts and foundations and PAFs,
- Experience building or developing philanthropy pipelines and donor strategies,
- Strong relationship management skills with donors, trustees, advisers and senior stakeholders,
- Strategic and curious in your approach, with the ability to identify opportunities to grow the value and impact of supporter relationships over time,
- Excellent written communication skills, including proposals, submissions and impact reporting,
- Experience leading and developing team members
- Robust commercial acumen, forecasting and pipeline management capability
- Proficient with CRM systems, ideally Salesforce, and Microsoft 365,
- A collaborative, proactive and solutions-focused approach,
- Commitment to respectful, strengths-based communication and positive outcomes for children and families.
