Temporary Payroll Officer in the CBD ASAP start!

A well-established organisation with a large national workforce is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a 3-month contract. Based in Sydney CBD, this role has arisen to provide coverage during a planned leave rotation period and offers the potential for extension beyond the initial contract.Your new role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll within a team environment. Supporting a workforce of approximately 3,000 employees, you will focus on BAU payroll operations while the organisation progresses through a separate payroll system implementation.
Key responsibilities include:

- End-to-end payroll processing across a large employee population
- Interpreting awards, agreements and payroll legislation
- Managing payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
- Processing leave, terminations, adjustments and reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate employee records and payroll data
- Supporting compliance across superannuation, taxation and payroll obligations
- Working collaboratively with HR and wider business stakeholders





What you'll need to succeed

- MUST be immediately available
- Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience within a medium to large organisation
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Experience within aged care or healthcare environments will be advantageous
