The Role

Loss prevention engineering and consultancy services.

Evaluating and reporting on construction site and property hazards.

Identifying and quantifying exposures at industrial properties.

Assessing the adequacy and operational functionality of protection systems.

The Opportunity

HDI Global is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Risk Engineer to join our market-leading risk engineering practice, HDI Risk Consulting (HRC). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the Power Generation sector, working with high-profile clients and major assets across Australia and New Zealand.

In this role, you will provide specialist risk consulting services to landmark projects and clients across a diverse portfolio of power generation assets, including renewables, conventional power plants,

and power transmission and distribution infrastructure. You will also support heavy industrial,

manufacturing, warehousing and commercial property clients,



applying your technical expertise to help identify, assess and reduce complex risks. The role includes approximately 50 days of travel per year, predominantly across Australia and New Zealand.

Gain exposure to a broad range of operational sites, including power generation assets,

infrastructure, heavy industry, large warehousing and manufacturing facilities across Australia and New Zealand.

Develop your capability through technical training and hands-on involvement in HRC assessment areas, including:

Fire / explosion risks.

Geotechnical risks.

Machinery breakdown risks.

Natural Catastrophe risks.

Business interruption risks.

Work closely with a highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team of engineers who will provide technical guidance, collaboration and ongoing development support.

Reviewing and evaluating clients’ in-house loss prevention programs.

Consulting with senior client stakeholders to identify and reduce fire and property-related risks.

Preparing clear risk report tabulations for underwriters prior to insurance renewal.

Conducting desktop reviews of insurance submissions and risk reports to support underwriting decisions.

Delivering loss prevention seminars to build client awareness and capability.

Managing risk engineering fees, costs and payments.

Are you ready for the chance to really make a difference?

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Electrical preferred).

Minimum five years’ experience in an engineering consulting environment, with at least 10 years’

overall experience within, or related to, the power generation industry.

Power generation risk engineering experience is highly regarded.

Excellent organisational and project management skills.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Proven experience in technical report writing and delivering technical presentations, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

A highly motivated, proactive approach and a genuine appetite for new challenges.

The ability to build and maintain successful client relationships.

Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency required.
