Help shape how one of NSW's largest government departments engages with its stakeholders An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced stakeholder engagement professional to join a major NSW Government department and contribute to some of the most significant environmental, sustainability and policy initiatives currently underway across the state.

Working within the Biodiversity, Conservation and Science division, you'll play a key role in improving how stakeholder engagement is planned, governed, delivered and measured across a large and diverse organisation. From developing enterprise-wide engagement frameworks through to advising on high-profile programs and complex stakeholder matters, this is a role where your work will have genuine visibility and impact.

This position would suit someone who enjoys balancing strategy and delivery. One day you might be designing engagement frameworks and governance processes, and the next you could be advising senior leaders on a complex consultation program or helping shape stakeholder engagement approaches for a major government initiative.

Your current company

This NSW Government department is responsible for delivering outcomes that support communities, industry, biodiversity, conservation and environmental sustainability across New South Wales. It works with a broad network of stakeholders, including communities, government agencies, local councils, industry groups and environmental organisations, making effective engagement a critical part of successful project and policy delivery.

Your new role

As Senior Engagement Advisor, you will provide specialist stakeholder engagement expertise and strategic advice to support engagement activities across a broad portfolio of programs and projects. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, project teams, executives and external partners to improve engagement outcomes and strengthen stakeholder relationships across the department.

Key responsibilities include

- Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies, frameworks, systems, tools and guidance.
- Providing expert stakeholder engagement advice and delivery support for complex and high-profile programs.
- Coordinating department-wide engagement initiatives that improve consistency, visibility and collaboration.
- Supporting engagement governance, reporting, evaluation and risk management processes.
- Enhancing stakeholder relationship management systems, reporting approaches and business processes.
- Developing templates, training materials and capability-building initiatives that promote best-practice engagement.
- Monitoring and evaluating engagement activities and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Building productive relationships with internal stakeholders,



government agencies and external partners.

What you'll need to succeed

We're looking for a confident and credible engagement professional who can operate effectively across complex stakeholder environments and influence outcomes through collaboration, expertise and strong relationship management.

You will bring

- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing stakeholder engagement and communications strategies.
- Strong stakeholder consultation, engagement and relationship management experience.
- Experience supporting large-scale programs, policy initiatives or complex projects.
- Strong understanding of engagement governance, performance measurement and reporting.
- Excellent communication, facilitation and advisory skills.
- The ability to build trust and influence a wide range of stakeholders across government and external organisations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Stakeholder Engagement or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel when required.
