Company An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Work, Health & Safety Adviser to join a well-known and growing Australian meat processing business, as part of the wider Overland Food and Agriculture Group. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standard of safety and wellbeing is achieved within the organisation.

Position

Working alongside the Operations and People & Culture team, this role will be responsible for reviewing, driving, and maintaining a strong and proactive safety culture. You will work closely with department supervision to ensure smooth operations, continuously monitoring progress and facilitate change as needed. This position guides, educates and ensures compliance to applicable legislative frameworks, company policies and procedures.

Profile

- Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or Diploma in Work Health & Safety
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Class C Australian driver’s licence




- First Aid Certificate and Mental Health First Aid Certificate
- ICAM Auditor (or similar)
- Strong written and verbal skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide articulated feedback.
- Comprehensive skills across the Microsoft Office Suite (or similar)

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to

- Facilitate Risk Assessments, internal audits, factory inspections and maintain safety records
- Lead the incident investigation process
- Develop and train to safe work instructions
- Coordinate the Management Safety Committee, scheduling meetings, preparing reports and following up on relevant items on the action list.
- Educate and coach leaders and conduct staff training on safety initiatives and safety refreshers
- Assist in the development, implementation and improvement of health and wellbeing programs to support our employees
- Maintain, update and communicate WHS policies and procedures to staff
