Geraldton Christian College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Music Teacher to join our thriving school community from January 2027.

This exciting opportunity involves teaching Music from Pre-Primary to Year 6 and Year 10 and contributing to a dynamic music program that inspires creativity, excellence, and student engagement. Depending on experience and expertise, the successful applicant may also have the opportunity to lead ensembles, contribute to co-curricular music programs, and establish a Year 4 Strings Program.

About the Role

The successful applicant will:

- Teach Music across PP to Year 6 and Year 10.
n
- Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning programs.
n
- Inspire students to develop musical skills, knowledge, and appreciation.
n
- Foster positive and productive classroom environments.
n
- Contribute to the broader life and mission of the College.
n
- Assist with ensembles, performances, and co-curricular music opportunities.
n
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen and grow the Music Department.

About You

You will bring:

- Recent experience teaching Music.
n




- Strong curriculum knowledge and effective teaching pedagogy.
n
- Excellent classroom management skills.
n
- Advanced practical skills in one or more instruments.
n
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
n
- A passion for inspiring young people through quality music education.
n
- An understanding of and commitment to Christian education and the College's mission and values.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Relevant teaching qualifications.
n
- Current Teacher Registration or eligibility for registration in Western Australia.
n
- Current Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one.
n
- Ability to articulate a Biblical worldview in education.
n
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid Australian work visa.
n

Desirable

n

n
- Experience in Christian education.
n
- Experience directing ensembles, choirs, or instrumental groups.
n
- Ability to contribute to a thriving Christian school community.
n
- Ability to teach a string instrument and design, implement, and lead a Year 4 Strings Program, including ensemble development and student performance opportunities.
