About the Role
n
Limelight People are recruiting an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join a specialist mental health service in Regional Victoria, providing assessment, triage and clinical support to consumers experiencing mental health concerns and psychological distress.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mental health skilled seeking a clinically focused role where you will provide timely assessment, risk management, treatment recommendations and support to consumers, families and other professionals.
n
Working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in connecting consumers with appropriate mental health services and support pathways.

Roster & Working Requirements

- Work within a mental health triage environment
n
- Participation in a 24/7 service may be required
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health triage and clinical assessments.
n
- Undertake mental health and risk assessments for consumers experiencing psychological distress or mental illness.
n
- Develop appropriate safety and support plans for consumers at risk.
n
- Provide clinical advice, consultation and recommendations regarding treatment and care.
n
- Support consumers, families, carers and other professionals to access appropriate mental health services.
n
- Apply recovery-focused principles throughout clinical practice.
n
- Provide timely clinical responses to consumers experiencing mental health crises.
n
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation.
n
- Communicate effectively with consumers, families, carers and healthcare professionals.
n
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical reviews and education sessions.
n
- Maintain professional clinical competencies and participate in ongoing professional development.
n
- Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, research and service development.
n
- Provide supervision, support and education to junior staff and students where required.
n
n
Requirements Applicants must hold one of the following:
n
n
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and postgraduate qualification in psychiatric or mental health nursing; or
n
- Registered Psychologist with current AHPRA registration; or
n
- Registered Occupational Therapist with current AHPRA registration; or
n
- Social Worker with an approved Social Work qualification and eligibility for AASW membership.

Additional requirements:
n
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mental health service delivery.
n
- Highly developed mental health assessment and risk assessment skills.
n
- Experience developing safety and support plans.
n
- Strong understanding of recovery-focused mental health practice.
n
- Experience providing clinical consultation and treatment recommendations.
n
- Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
n
- Ability to work effectively with consumers, families, carers and professionals from diverse backgrounds.
n
- Knowledge of contemporary mental health legislation, standards and clinical practice.
n
- Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
n
- Experience working across adult, older adult, child or youth mental health services.
n
- Further tertiary qualifications in mental health or a related discipline.
n
- Experience within triage, acute mental health or crisis assessment environments.
n
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective clinical practice.
n
