Support Worker – Supported Independent Living

Location: North Parramatta, NSW

Availability: Minimum 3 days/nights per week

About the Role

Upwards Living is looking for compassionate and reliable Support Workers to join our team in North Parramatta, with a particular focus on night shift availability.

As a Support Worker, you will provide high-quality, personalised support to participants in line with their individual support and care plans, helping them maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. The role works closely with our Service Management team and has no direct reports.

To be considered for this prospect, you must be available to work night shifts on at least 3 days per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will provide hands-on, person-centred support tailored to each participant’s individual needs and goals. Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing personalised care and support in accordance with individual support and care plans
- Supporting participants to build independence and work towards their individual goals
- Assisting participants with daily living activities and community participation where required
- Monitoring participants’ wellbeing and escalating concerns appropriately
- Maintaining accurate case notes, progress records and incident documentation
- Following organisational policies, WHS requirements and relevant NDIS and Aged Care standards
- Communicating effectively with participants, families, Service Managers and other members of the support team

What We’re Looking For To be successful in the role, you must have:





- Ability to communicate in both Mandarin/Cantonese and English
- Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care with prior experience working in SIL and/or Certificate IV in Disability, Diploma of Community Services, or above
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Valid Australian driver’s licence
- Valid Australian working rights
- At least 1 year of experience working as a Support Worker, preferably in SIL environment
- A compassionate, respectful and person-centred approach
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain professional boundaries

Experience supporting people with complex needs, including positive behaviour support, manual handling, epilepsy, diabetes, PEG feeding, catheter care or complex mental health needs, will be highly regarded.
