Site Manager – Commercial Construction

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a highly regarded, privately owned WA commercial builder with a strong and growing pipeline of commercial construction projects across Perth. With an experienced leadership team, strong Tier 1 and Tier 2 backgrounds, established subcontractor relationships and a reputation for delivering quality projects, the business offers the opportunity to work on interesting, varied projects without the layers of management and bureaucracy often found within larger contractors.

The business delivers projects through a combination of D&C;, ECI and Construct Only procurement models.

The business is continuing to grow steadily, with a focus on maintaining its culture while taking on increasingly significant projects across the commercial and government sectors.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Manager to take ownership of the site delivery of a significant commercial construction project. You will work closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site and ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, to a high standard and in accordance with the program.

Key responsibilities will include

- Managing all day-to-day site operations
- Coordinating subcontractors, trades and site personnel
- Managing site safety, quality and environmental requirements
- Planning and coordinating construction activities
- Monitoring progress against program and identifying potential delays
- Coordinating inspections, quality assurance and defect management
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Contract Administrators and consultants
- Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and clients
- Ensuring works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with project documentation
- Providing leadership and direction to the site team
- Maintaining accurate site records and reporting on progress

About You

You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within commercial construction
- Experience delivering projects in the $30m–$60m+ range
- Strong subcontractor and site team management skills
- A solid understanding of construction methodology, programming, safety and quality
- Solid communication and leadership skills
- The ability to take ownership and make decisions
- A practical, solutions-focused approach
- Experience working within a structured construction environment
