Job Title: SMU Mechanical operator

JOB PURPOSE
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training setting in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

To carry out the mechanical requirements of the scheduled maintenance, removal and inspections on Typhoon aircraft as well as providing support to the RSAF Typhoon operations away from the Scheduled Maintenance Unit (SMU).
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Carrying out scheduled, mechanical maintenance on RSAF Typhoon aircraft as detailed in the relevant scheduled maintenance inspections on Typhoon aircraft, Installs, Repairs, Maintains, Services, Overhauls, Modification embodiment and Testing of aircraft components and systems, Fault Diagnosis and Recovery of Aircraft Systems.
· Responsible for the quality and completeness of the work carried out or sign for as having been carried out, on an aircraft or aircraft component
· Works within the requirements of the SMU Quality Systems and RSAF Technical orders.
· Completes SMU forms, appropriate aircraft forms, records and maintenance documentation.
· Ensures authorisations are current for the tasks in hand.
· Highlight to the immediate supervisor areas of inexperience or training requirements needed to complete his or their daily tasks.
· Complies with the requirements of the SMU Quality Systems and RSAF Technical orders and publications.
· Complete all mandated training, ensuring training validity dates remain current.
· Complete any other reasonable duties or requests that are made by your line management
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential:
· Successful completion of National Secondary Education AND Qualified to Level 2 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
· Substantial post qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment OR successful completion of BAESSA apprenticeship programme
· Completion of all relevant tasks/Projects in Technician Logbook
· English Language Proficiency
· Good interpersonal communication.
· The successful candidate, Saudi or Expatriate must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level, prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA. SCE membership must be maintained throughout their employment in this role.
Desirable:
· Qualified to Level 3 Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
· EASA/GACA Category A Licence.
· Experience in using IMS/ESS/Trilogiview.
· Experience of RSAF documentation and procedures
