Solution Architect (xECM)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenText Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and optimisation of enterprise content management solutions across complex business environments. This role will be responsible for architecting and delivering scalable OpenText platforms, including xECM, Content Server, Archive Center, OTDS, Content Aviator, Smart View, WebReports, and Workflow solutions, while driving integration initiatives across enterprise applications and business systems.

Working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and solution owners, you will provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, from solution design and architecture through to implementation, optimisation, and ongoing support. The role requires deep expertise in OpenText development technologies including OScript, REST APIs, CWS, SDK development, and enterprise integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement enterprise-scale OpenText ECM solutions using xECM, Content Server, Archive Center, and OTDS.
- Develop and maintain custom solutions using OScript, WebReports, LiveReports, SDKs, CWS, and REST APIs.
- Lead architecture design, system performance optimisation, and capacity planning activities.
- Deliver enterprise integrations between OpenText platforms and external applications including Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter.
- Provide technical leadership across solution design, development, deployment, and support.
- Establish governance, security, and best practice standards across the OpenText ecosystem.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Support Agile delivery teams through planning, estimation, and technical oversight.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous platform improvement initiatives.

The Successful Candidate





- 10 years of experience architecting and delivering enterprise-scale OpenText ECM solutions with deep expertise in xECM, Content Server, Archive Center, OTDS, and business-critical integrations.
- Own end-to-end solution architecture, technical governance, delivery leadership, platform roadmap, and solution assurance across development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of OpenText Content Server architecture including Object Model, Nodes, Categories, RM Classification, Workspaces, Security, Search, Indexing, and Metadata Frameworks.
- Strong development expertise in WebReports, LiveReports, OScript customisations, REST API development, Content Web Services (CWS), SDK integrations, Workflow scripting, Event Scripts, and Smart View extensions.
- Design and implement xECM integration patterns with Guidewire ClaimCenter, Guidewire PolicyCenter, SAP, Salesforce, SharePoint, and enterprise insurance applications.
- Design enterprise API architecture including authentication, authorization, document lifecycle management, metadata synchronization, and real-time content integration.
- Lead solution design workshops, architecture reviews, HLD/LLD creation, non-functional requirement analysis, security reviews, and platform governance.
- Solid experience in Content Server database schema, SQL optimisation, indexing analysis, search performance tuning, storage analysis, and large-volume repository management.
- Design scalable Archive Center solutions including storage architecture, retention models, archival policies, capacity forecasting,



and long-term repository growth planning.
- Lead architecture upliftment initiatives covering cloud readiness, technical debt reduction, modernisation strategies, observability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
- Perform capacity planning, infrastructure sizing, performance engineering, workload modelling, failover design, DR architecture, and high-availability solution assessments.
- Design RPA and AI-powered document automation solutions leveraging ECM workflows, document classification, metadata enrichment, and business process automation.
- Drive Agile delivery practices with DevOps, CI/CD, release management, sprint planning, technical estimation, and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Insurance domain expertise across Claims, Policy, Customer, Broker, Regulatory, and Records Management processes with proven Guidewire integration experience.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor development teams, define development standards, conduct code reviews, and act as the technical authority for enterprise OpenText platforms.
