Sous Chef/ Senior Chef – Alma Surfers Paradise

Market-competitive salary: $70,000–$85,000 + Super (based on experience)

We’re looking for a reliable and experienced Sous Chef and a Senior Chef to join our team at Alma. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen with a focus on quality, consistency, and clean execution. Work closely with the Head chef to ensure smooth operation. Willing to Lead and train the team of hospitality professionals to deliver exceptional service.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Leading Lunch and Dinner service and prep in high-volume. Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen, following food safety standards & managing stock rotation. Communicating with FOH to ensure smooth service flow. Taking pride in presentation, timing, and quality of every dish

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a similar role or someone who wants to level up. Punctual, clean and consistent with service and prep. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Good understanding of food safety and kitchen standards. Available to work across a 7-day roster and public holidays

Skills & Experience

Strong communication skills. Incredible attention to detail and organization skills.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

To be successful in your application you will need to possess the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

Oversee all aspects relating to the management of the kitchen operations, including food safety plans, WHS, HACCP.

Effective and efficient running of the kitchen including Stock Control and Par Levels. The ability to deliver consistent, high-quality food whilst maintaining food costs within budget. A fair understanding of rostering to manage staff and labor costs efficiently. Be proactive, professional and focused in a constantly changing and challenging environment. Be motivated, able to work under pressure and have a positive can-do attitude to get things done
