Position: Organisation Unit: Location: Package: Tenure: Closing: Synopsis: Role Purpose The Museum has an exciting opportunity for an educator and team leader to join our education team. The Special Projects Producer, Education, will provide specialist education expertise to support the development and delivery of strategic learning initiatives across the Education team. Working flexibly across both onsite and digital education programs, the role develops engaging learning experiences, special projects and resources for students and teachers, contributing to initiatives such as Museum to You, a reinvigorated digital excursion offering, the development of the NMA’s new LearnHub, Australia’s Defining Moments Digital Classroom and other strategic priorities.

The Education team delivers curriculum-aligned learning experiences that connect students, teachers and schools with the Museum’s collections, exhibitions and stories through onsite and digital platforms.

The role works collaboratively across the Museum to deliver high-quality educational outcomes that extend audience reach and engagement with the Museum’s collections, stories and experiences.

Key Accountabilities The successful candidate will be an experienced educator and project leader with knowledge of contemporary teaching and learning practices, curriculum development and audience engagement. They will have demonstrated experience leading complex education projects, creating high-quality learning resources and experiences that connect student audiences with cultural content across onsite, outreach and digital environments.

They will be proactive, organised and outcomes-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to the delivery of key education projects and organisational objectives.

- Lead the development and delivery of strategic education projects and initiatives, providing specialist education expertise to support priority programs including Museum to You, renewed digital excursion offerings, the development of LearnHub, Australia’s Defining Moments Digital Classroom and other priority projects.

- Design and produce engaging learning resources and educational content for student and teacher audiences, demonstrating an understanding of curriculum requirements, age-appropriate learning design, and effective engagement strategies across digital and face-to-face platforms.

- Apply knowledge of contemporary pedagogy, digital learning and audience engagement to create innovative educational experiences that connect students with the Museum's collections, exhibitions, stories and research.

- Manage project planning,



implementation and evaluation, coordinating workflows, timelines, budgets and stakeholder relationships to deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes.

- Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including educators, curriculum specialists, subject matter experts, cultural institutions and community partners, to inform and strengthen project outcomes.

- Research, write and develop educational materials and digital content that align with national curriculum priorities, support diverse learning needs and enhance engagement with Museum audiences.

- Monitor, evaluate and continuously improve education projects and resources, using audience feedback, data and evidence-based practice to inform future development and maximise impact.

- Demonstrate a strong commitment to Work Health and Safety (WH&S;) by actively supporting a positive safety culture, following the Museum’s WHS policies and procedures, and complying with reasonable instructions to ensure alignment with the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Essential

- Demonstrated experience initiating, developing and delivering engaging educational programs, resources or learning experiences aligned with the Australian Curriculum for students and teachers, including the ability to independently translate strategic objectives into high-quality education outcomes

- Strong project management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to exercise initiative, work independently with limited supervision, manage competing priorities,and deliver high-quality outcomes within agreed timeframes

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience researching, writing and producing educational content for a range of audiences and platforms.

- Strong understanding of contemporary education theory, practice and trends, including digital and blended learning approaches, and the ability to apply this knowledge to the development of innovative learning experiences.





- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders while taking personal responsibility for progressing work and achieving agreed outcomes.

- Demonstrated understanding of, and interest in, Australian history and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures and a willingness and capacity to continue to further this understanding.

- Demonstrated commitment to a child safe and child friendly environment and personal skills that support and enhance children’s positive engagement with the Museum and its programs.

Desirable

- Experience developing digital learning resources or online education content.

- Experience working in a museum, cultural, heritage, or education setting.

- Relevant qualifications in Education, History, Museum Studies, or related discipline.
