Boddington is a flagship Newmont gold and copper operation in Western Australia, located about 130 kilometres south-east of Perth and 16 kilometres from the rural town of Boddington. Your impact

As a Specialist Tailings, you'll provide technical expertise to support the protected, responsible and sustainable management of Newmont's tailings storage facilities and water-retaining structures. You will play a key role in supporting the integrity and performance of critical infrastructure, ensuring facilities operate in accordance with design intent while contributing to governance, risk management and compliance with industry-leading standards.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

- Support the safe operation and stewardship of tailings storage facilities and water storage facilities across the site.
- Monitor dam performance through instrumentation, surveys and data analysis, ensuring performance remains within design intent.
- Facilitate risk assessments and support the development and execution of risk mitigation strategies.
- Support governance programs including Independent Technical Review Boards,



stewardship activities and dam safety reviews.
- Assist in implementing industry standards and Newmont requirements, including support for GISTM compliance and RTFE responsibilities

Prerequisites for Success in This Role

- Tertiary qualification in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological or a related Engineering discipline.
- Experience supporting tailings storage facilities, water-retaining structures or mine waste facilities within mining, resources or other heavy industry environments will be highly regarded.
- Knowledge of tailings storage facilities, water-retaining structures, dam safety, geotechnical investigations and risk management principles.
- Understanding of industry standards and guidelines including GISTM, ANCOLD and ICOLD.
- Exposure to industry frameworks and governance requirements, including ANCOLD, ICOLD and GISTM, will be highly regarded.
- Experience interpreting technical data and applying engineering judgement to support operational decision-making.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Your Work Environment

This permanent position is offered on a 5:2, 4:3 drive-in, drive-out roster from Perth. Flexibility may be required from time to time to support operational needs and site priorities. Village accommodation is provided while on site. You will work closely with the Tailings and Water team, Planning, Construction, Processing and Safety teams, as well as corporate technical specialists, consultants, regulators and Engineers of Record. Reporting to the Superintendent Tailings and Water, you will contribute as a technical specialist supporting tailings,



dam safety and water management outcomes across the operation.
