YOUR NEW ROLE

In this KEY important role (as the only internal accountant),reporting to the Managing Partner/Director, you will relish the challenge+ diversity of taking 100% ownership of the firm’s entire accounting function-from the basic day-to-day to high-end strategic business input.

In particular, you will be responsible for:

- accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial+ management reporting, reconciliations,trust accounting/controlled monies, budgets/forecasts, cash flows, PAYG, overseeing payroll (outsourced), variance analysis, superannuation, BAS and GST;
- ensuring corporate governance/regulatory compliance (including Law Society trust account audits) and renewing/managing insurances (workers compensation, Law Society professional indemnity, fire/theft/property);




- providing value-add commercial/strategic business input as required.

WHO YOU ARE

We are interested in hearing from you if you:

- are degree/diploma qualified in accounting/bookkeeping [or similar]+ are preferably (but not essential) CA/CPA qualified [or studying/partly qualified- but not essential];
- have minimum 4-10+years broad hands-on accounting experience as an accountant or bookkeeper;
- have worked in a law/accounting firm with experience in trust accounts (essential);
- have high accuracy/attention to detail with high commercial acumen [all essential];
- Have used AFFINITY legal accounting software (desirable);
- are efficient, deadline driven +have proven ability to thrive in a busy multi-tasking environment.
