Bourke District Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Drug & Alcohol MERIT Program in Bourke/Brewarrina, NSW. This is a two-week contract role, running from 14 September to 25 September 2026, supporting clients in the Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment program. You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering community-based drug and alcohol services, providing nursing assessment, monitoring, and care to help clients navigate their treatment journey.

- Support clients in a specialist drug and alcohol treatment program within a community mental health setting
- Deliver nursing assessment, monitoring, and clinical care as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Two-week contract position with flexibility and clear scope in a regional healthcare setting

Preferred Requirements

- Experience in drug and alcohol nursing,



or a robust background in community mental health
- Knowledge of withdrawal management principles and client support strategies
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong assessment and monitoring skills, with attention to client safety and wellbeing
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification, with current AHPRA registration
- Post-graduate qualification or demonstrated experience in drug and alcohol nursing
- Certification or training in mental health or addiction nursing is advantageous
