Medical Support Manager
Position Classification: Health Manager - Level 1
Remuneration: $91,326.00 – $121,497.00 per annum (+ super + 17.5% leave loading where applicable)
Employment Type: Temporary Full - Time (from 28 September 2026 until 31 January 2027)

About the Role
The Medical Support Manager, Greater Wagga Wagga Cluster provides high level organisational and administrative support to the Director of Medical Services. Working closely with the Director, this position plays an integral support role across all strategic leadership and operational matters, and requires strong judgement, discretion and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters at an executive level.
You will consult and work closely with the medical administration team, district office, medical workforce unit, cluster sites, clinicians and external stakeholders, including AHPRA and specialist colleges, to support an integrated and responsive health service, while providing high level communication, coordination and project support to the Director of Medical Services.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide the Director of Medical Services with strategic advice and support regarding sensitive issues across all medical aspects of the Greater Wagga Wagga Cluster
- Consult and work closely with the medical administration team, district office, medical workforce unit, cluster sites, clinicians and external stakeholders to formulate, implement, improve and review systems and processes that support an integrated and responsive health service
- Provide the Director of Medical Services with high level communication support, including preparation of correspondence, reports, briefs and other documentation as required
- Provide direct support for all meetings and committees chaired by the Director of Medical Services
- Manage delegated projects at the discretion of the Director of Medical Services
- Liaise with directorates, departments and facilities managed by the Director of Medical Services and external stakeholders including AHPRA, Specialist Colleges and network facilities, to support best patient flows and outcomes
- Maintain and manage Training, Education and Study Leave (TESL), other leave and financial entitlements for Greater Wagga Wagga Sector Senior Medical Staff
- Coordinate recruitment for Senior Medical Staff positions across the Greater Wagga Wagga Cluster
- Coordinate quality and safety projects within the portfolio of the Director of Medical Services, collating information and preparing high quality, complex reports
- Coordinate confidential medicolegal communication regarding court matters, professional practice issues and complex patient complaints
Essential Criteria
- National Police Check
- Category B Vaccination
Selection Criteria
- High level communication skills, including sound negotiation, interpersonal and liaison skills,
with demonstrated ability to problem solve and use judgement and discretion
- Demonstrated ability to respond, adapt and cope with changing priorities and demands in a multidisciplinary work environment
- Proven high level organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently and exercise initiative and judgement, with a proven ability to work within a team workplace
- Proven proficiency using various PC based software, including an advanced level of proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven experience in a private or public sector role at a similar level
- Current Class C drivers licence and ability to travel for work purposes
