Hospital
The hospital is a major regional referral centre delivering specialist services to a large and diverse population across North Queensland. The Respiratory and Sleep Medicine service manages a broad range of acute and chronic respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, lung cancer, and respiratory infections. The department also provides sleep medicine services, including the assessment and management of sleep-disordered breathing and related conditions. Working closely with the General Medicine department,



the service supports inpatient and outpatient care through a collaborative multidisciplinary model. Supported by modern diagnostic facilities, respiratory function testing, sleep services, and strong allied health teams, the department offers an engaging environment for physicians seeking broad clinical practice, leadership opportunities, and involvement in regional service development.
