Registered Nurse – Grade 5 | 4-Week Contract | Alpha, QLD

4-week contract | Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service | Travel & accommodation provided

We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN Grade 5) for a 4-week contract at Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service (MPHS) in regional Queensland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced rural/remote nurse with a solid background across acute care, aged care and emergency nursing.

About the Role

- Location: Alpha, QLD

- Facility: Alpha Multi Purpose Health Service

- Contract: 28 September 2026 – 8 November 2026

- Position: RN Grade 5

- Accommodation: Shared on-site accommodation provided

- Travel: Travel expenses reimbursed, subject to applicable caps

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

- Extensive experience in acute nursing

- Experience in aged care

- Experience working in an Emergency Department

- Current Triage training and competency

- IVC/Cannulation competency

- Advanced Life Support (ALS)

- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

- Ability to work confidently and independently in a regional health setting

Travel & Accommodation

Travel reimbursement:
Travel will be reimbursed equivalent to the cost of flying from Brisbane to the facility, with travel costs capped at $850 return, or applicable ATO rates for travel of up to 500 km.

Flights may be arranged to Longreach or Windorah, with onward transport to Alpha.

Accommodation:




Shared accommodation is available on-site at Alpha MPHS. The facility was specifically designed to support staff working in the region and includes six short-term accommodation units for health workers and agency staff.

Compliance Requirements

Successful candidates will need to provide the required documentation prior to commencement, including:

- Most current signed and dated resume

- 2 professional references completed within the last 6 months

- JP-certified nursing qualifications

- Required vaccination/serology evidence, including Hepatitis B, MMR, Pertussis and Varicella

- TB Questionnaire and VPD documentation

- JP-certified National Police Certificate / Aged Care Criminal History Check

- 3 JP-certified forms of identification, including one photo ID

- Current BLS, ALS and PALS evidence

- Triage training and completed competency

- Other facility-specific compliance documentation as required

Important: The National Police Certificate must be emailed directly by the nurse to Queensland Health at ***************@health.qld.gov.au in accordance with current legislation.
