The Role:
Fixed, full-time Emergency Medicine Senior Registrar.

The role offers a unique experience in Aboriginal Health

- Practising high acuity medicine in a young population where 80% patients are Aboriginal, approx. 50000 presentations with 42% admission rate and 22% paediatric presentations.
- Access accredited rotations to Paediatrics, Anaesthetics, ICU (Rural and Remote Medicine + Core ED with blended supervision) and Retrieval Medicine.

- 12% super
- 17.5% annual leave loading bonus
- Additional 2 weeks of recreation leave (6 weeks in total)
- 4 hours per week of protected teaching
- Highly supportive for primary and fellowship exam candidates

A major regional hospital located in the heart of Australia’s Red Centre.



Serving a vast and diverse population across Central Australia, it offers a broad range of acute and specialist services.
The ED has approximately 50000 presentations a year with a 40% admission rate. Known for its tight-knit team, strong Aboriginal health focus, and opportunities for hands-on experience, the hospital is a unique and rewarding place to work — all set against the stunning backdrop of the outback.

The Requirements:

- Registration with AHPRA
- Either be in the final year of training of the FACEM training program (Training Stage 4 registrar) or have demonstrated substantial equivalent clinical experience and hold ACEM assessment of partially comparable.
- IMG's with extensive ED experience encouraged to apply if you have previous experience in ICU, Anesthetics, Paediatrics
- Passion for regional and rural medicine.
