Senior Stormwater Engineer

Sellick Consultants is looking for an experienced Senior Stormwater Engineer to join our Civil team.

This is a role for someone who enjoys the technical side of stormwater and water resources engineering, but also enjoys working with people. You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work directly with clients and authorities, contribute to project delivery and help develop the engineers and designers around you.

You’ll work across a varied portfolio of projects, from residential and commercial developments through to larger institutional, industrial and infrastructure projects. Our multidisciplinary structure also means you’ll work closely with our structural, civil and hydraulic teams, giving you the opportunity to be involved in projects from early concept through to construction.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical capability, good judgement and a practical approach to engineering. Someone who enjoys a challenge, takes pride in their work and understands that good engineering is about finding solutions that work in the real world.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare hydrological, hydraulic and flood studies and modelling.

- Develop WSUD strategies, concepts and modelling.

- Prepare detailed design and documentation for stormwater drainage, flood mitigation, WSUD and water resources projects.

- Manage multiple projects, including programming, coordination and delivery.

- Work directly with clients, authorities and project teams on technical and project matters.

- Assist Directors and Project Managers with business development, tenders and fee proposals.

- Coordinate civil and stormwater design with internal project teams and other disciplines.

- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers, civil designers and drafters.

- Contribute to the training and development of less experienced team members.

About you

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer who combines strong technical skills with a practical, client-focused approach.

You will ideally have:





- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.

- CPEng and RPEQ accreditation.

- 8+ years’ post-graduate experience in the Australian market, as a guide.

- Proven experience delivering water resources and stormwater projects.

- Strong experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling software including TUFLOW, WBNM, DRAINS, MUSIC or similar.

- Experience with Civil 3D and/or 12D.

- Solid project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

- Excellent communication and client management skills.

- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.

- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.

- A current Australian driver’s licence.
