Diesel Mechanic

Location: Thomastown, Melbourne, VIC

Salary: $95,000 + Superannuation

SOTA Tractors is Australia's leading small-acreage tractor and machinery specialist. We're seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Thomastown head office, servicing tractors and agricultural equipment.

No tractor experience? No problem. If you're a qualified diesel mechanic with experience on trucks, earthmoving machinery or other diesel-powered equipment, we'd like to hear from you.

Established in 2003, SOTA has branches in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, supplying tractors, implements and agricultural machinery to customers throughout Australia. Our reputation has been built on quality equipment, expert advice and outstanding customer service.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing and pre-delivery preparation of tractors, implements and agricultural equipment.

Your duties will include:

- Servicing and repairing diesel tractors and agricultural equipment

- Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

- Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance

- Preparing tractors and implements for customer delivery

- Assisting with general workshop duties as required

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Experience servicing diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment





- Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or equivalent mechanical trade

- Experience servicing diesel engines and diesel-powered equipment

- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

- The ability to work independently and as part of a team

- A positive attitude and reliable work ethic

- Australian working rights

Highly regarded:

- Experience with tractors, agricultural equipment, earthmoving machinery or trucks

- Knowledge of hydraulic systems

- Welding and fabrication skills

- Forklift licence
