Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented finance qualified to join our Revenue & Expenditure team as a Finance Officer. This varied role will allow you to build on your accounts payable and accounts receivable experience while contributing to the delivery of accurate, timely and customer-focused financial services. Working across both functions on a rotational basis, you will broaden your skills, support Council’s day-to-day financial operations and help deliver positive outcomes for our community.

The role of Finance Officer includes:
• Preparation of daily bank reconciliations
• Maintain the electronic staff reimbursements portal and process electronic fund
• Perform accounts payable tasks including maintaining records, processing invoices and payments, reconciling supplier statements.
• Perform accounts receipting tasks including preparing daily banking, receipting funds, completing reconciliations and posting journals
• Perform accounts receivable duties including invoicing, maintain accounts and reconciling balances.
• Assist with debt recovery activities to ensure timely follow-up and resolution of outstanding accounts.
• Attend to customer service requests and incoming correspondence
What we are seeking in our new team member:
1. Degree in Accounting, Commerce or equivalent field
2. High attention to detail and accuracy and a team player
3. Sound knowledge of accounting, supported with a strong understanding of debt recovery practices & procedures
4. Competent written and oral communication and strong customer service skills
