About Allume

We’re empowering millions of people to access clean, affordable energy – no matter where they live.

We’re a Melbourne-based technology company, and our world-first technology, SolShare, unlocks rooftop solar for apartment residents. This smart hardware connects a single rooftop solar system to multiple units and common areas, fairly distributing solar energy so everyone gets their fair share. That helps reduce both energy bills and global carbon emissions.

SolShare removes the technical and ownership barriers that have long prevented apartment households from accessing rooftop solar. Built here in Melbourne, it’s now connected over 12,000 apartments across Australia, the UK and the US. We’re doubling our installation base each year, and we’re aiming to connect over 100,000 apartments by 2029. With SolShare 2, we’re now bringing shared battery optimisation to apartment buildings too.

We’re growing quickly, and our technology is becoming more capable as we scale. That means we need great people to help us build what comes next.

What we offer

- Hybrid work: You’ll be based in our Melbourne office, with the flexibility to work from home. We get a lot out of face-to-face time, so we’d love to see you in the office regularly.
- Flexibility: We’d prefer this role to be full time, but if you’re returning to work or want more time for life outside it, we’d still love you to apply. Part-time looks different for everyone, and we’re happy to talk about what would suit you.
- Leave: 25 days (5 weeks) of annual leave, plus a ‘Half-Day Friday’ every fortnight where the whole team logs off at lunch.
- Progressive parental leave:

15 weeks paid leave for primary carers and 5 weeks for secondary carers, with no minimum tenure.
- Wellbeing: Free, confidential counselling and support through our Employee Assistance Program.
- Options: Share options through our Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP).

About the role

We’re scaling up SolShare 2 manufacturing to meet growing customer demand across Australia and the UK.

You’ll join as our Procurement and Manufacturing Operations Manager and keep that pipeline running: procurement, freight, cost control and supplier performance – all owned end to end.

You’ll work closely with our contract manufacturer and Allume’s Finance, Sales & Engineering teams to ensure materials arrive on time, costs stay on budget and production stays on schedule – so the rest of the business can plan and sell with confidence.

What you’ll do:

- Own the purchase order cycle end to end for key manufacturing materials – raising orders, confirming quantities and delivery dates with suppliers, and tracking every order through to delivery.
- Lead supply chain, procurement and logistics end to end, so we can deliver today while scaling to meet increased volumes and future market growth. That covers third-party logistics (3PL) and freight management, supplier development and onboarding, procurement support for prototyping and production, and commercial negotiations with suppliers, distributors and contract manufacturers.
- Track manufacturing cost of goods and purchase price variance against budget, flagging cost creep before it becomes a problem.
- Monitor our contract manufacturer’s delivery performance against agreed volumes, lead times and contract terms – and be the first point of escalation when something slips.
- Maintain the sales-to-manufacturing forecast, translating what our Sales team expects to sell into confirmed manufacturing orders.

- Produce regular reporting on material status, cost and volumes for the operations team and board.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need a manufacturing supply chain background, and you don’t need to tick every box. What matters most is that the role excites you, that you can own procurement, cost management and vendor relationships end to end, and that you enjoy keeping complex operations running smoothly.

You’ll have:

- Deep experience in operations, procurement or supply chain, including purchase order and vendor management.
- Confidence working with cost data – budgets, cost of goods sold and price variances – and the ability to turn numbers into clear actions.
- Experience managing supplier or vendor relationships, including holding partners to agreed contracts and timelines.
- Solid organisational skills and comfort owning a tracker or reporting cadence that other teams rely on.
- The ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Sales and Engineering.
- Transparent, proactive communication – you flag problems early, not after they’ve become a crisis.

Nice to have

It’d be great if you also have experience with:

- Manufacturing supply chain, hardware/electronics procurement, or working with an offshore contract manufacturer.
- Freight, logistics or 3PL management.
- A fast-growing product or hardware company.

Right to work

You’ll need valid, unrestricted work rights in Australia. We can’t offer visa sponsorship.

Interview process

We aim to respond within two weeks, and the full process usually takes four to six weeks. There are three stages:

- Round 1: Online interview (15 minutes) – a short conversation about your experience, what you’re looking for and why Allume interests you.
- Round 2: Operational deep dive (1 hour) – an in-person discussion with the hiring manager about your experience with procurement, cost tracking or vendor management, and how you’d approach the problems in this role.
- Round 3: Values and team alignment (1.5 hours) – a final conversation with the hiring manager and the wider team, so both sides can work out whether Allume is the right fit.
