About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Grill Chef to join the culinary team at Middle Green Sports. This is a full-time position over a four day week, based in Greenbank QLD 4124. As Grill Chef you will be specialising in grill, pan section and ensuring that meals go out with the highest of quality due to our current expectations. This role is crucial to delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests and maintaining the high standards Middle Green Sports is known for. You will work collaboratively with our kitchen brigade to ensure consistency, quality, and creativity in every dish that leaves the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of grilled dishes including meat, poultry, seafood and vegetables to the highest standard

- Maintain strict adherence to recipes, portion sizes and presentation guidelines

- Manage the grill station efficiently during service, coordinating with other kitchen staff

- Monitor food quality and taste, making adjustments as necessary to maintain consistency

- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met, including proper storage and handling of ingredients

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the grill station and surrounding work areas

- Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to develop current grilled menu items and seasonal specials

- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on grill techniques and food safety practices

- Manage inventory of grill station supplies and report stock levels to management

- Respond promptly to service demands and maintain composure during busy periods

What we're looking for

- Formal culinary training or recognised hospitality qualification

- Proven experience working as a Grill Chef or in a similar kitchen station role within a professional kitchen environment

- Advanced knowledge of grilling techniques, marinades, seasoning and temperature control

- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices





- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain quality during peak service times

- Excellent organisational and time management skills

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a kitchen team

- Physical fitness and stamina to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen setting

- Knowledge of different cuts of meat, poultry and seafood and their cooking requirements

- Passion for culinary excellence and commitment to continuous improvement

- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities and support other kitchen stations as needed

- MUST have a current Food safety supervisor certificate or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.
