Bowls Development Coordinator

Bargo Sports Club | Part time | 25–30 hours per week

Bargo Sports Club is proudly located at the gateway to the Southern Highlands and is excited to re-establish the role of Bowls Development Coordinator.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven bowls professional to take a leading role in developing and growing our bowls program, with the ambition of establishing Bargo Sports Club as one of the premier bowls clubs in Australia.

With a newly renovated venue, strong foundations and a progressive team committed to growth, the opportunity is significant. We are looking for someone with the vision, energy and initiative to build on our existing success, attract new participants and members, develop new opportunities and help take our bowls program to the next level.

As the Bowls Development Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to:

- Build relationships across the sport – work with members, volunteers, clubs, associations, businesses and the broader bowls community.

energy and initiative to a role where your contribution can have a visible and lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate and manage the weekly schedule of bowls competitions, social activities and Barefoot Bowls bookings.

- Organise and coordinate Corporate Bowls Days, tournaments, regional and state events.

- Develop, maintain and promote the Club’s annual bowls calendar, including Club Championships.

- Coordinate the administrative and operational requirements of major bowls events.

- Manage and maintain BowlsLink and Club booking systems.

- Develop and implement initiatives to increase bowls participation, membership and revenue.

- Identify and pursue new opportunities to promote bowls and grow the Club’s customer and membership base.

- Maximise the Club’s exposure through social media, digital communications and other promotional channels.

- Develop and implement membership campaigns and advertising opportunities.

- Promote bowls to new audiences, including schools, community groups, businesses and corporate organisations.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with Club members, volunteers, visiting players, bowling clubs, regional bodies and state associations.

- Provide regular reports and updates to the Committee, members, selectors and coaches, as well as through Club communication channels.

- Communicate match and tournament results to relevant regional and state organisations.

- Liaise with Club staff and contractors to ensure bowls requirements are effectively communicated and delivered, including catering,



green preparation, staffing and rostering.

- Ensure bowls equipment, playing areas and facilities are maintained and ready for use.

- Represent Bargo Sports Club and the Bargo Bushrangers professionally and actively contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the Club’s bowls department.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Passionate about bowls and committed to growing participation and the Club’s bowls program.

- Experienced in developing new business, events, programs and participation opportunities.

- Confident engaging with members, volunteers, new players, businesses, community groups and the general public.

- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

- A collaborative team player who can work effectively with Club management, staff, volunteers, coaches, selectors and committees.

- Confident using IT systems, booking platforms and digital communication tools.

- Experienced in, or willing to learn, social media and promotional activities.

- Flexible and available to work evenings, weekends and during major events as required.

- An experienced bowls player who is willing and able to represent the Bargo Bushrangers in all competitions.

Qualifications & Requirements

To be considered for this position, you will have:

- A current Working with Children Check.

- A current First Aid Certificate.

- Strong computer and administrative skills.

- A demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the game of bowls.

Desirable:

- Experience using BowlsLink.

- Current RSA and RCG certification.

- Experience in event coordination, community engagement, membership development or business development.
