The Role: Financial Anchor and Cross-Functional Partner

We are looking for a Financial Controller who combines sharp financial stewardship with exceptional interpersonal skills. Whether you are an experienced startup finance lead or a high-performing Big 4 / Public Practice Manager looking to step out of timesheets and into true operational ownership, we want to hear from you.

As a 35-person startup operating across Australia, the US, and Europe, our financial health relies on clear communication, strong cross-functional relationships, and disciplined capital management. In this business-critical role, you will be the bridge between finance and our global team—leading our budgeting process not as a top-down mandate, but as a collaborative partnership that empowers team leads across engineering,



product, and operations to build and manage their own operating budgets.

Key Responsibilities

- Budget Cycle Leadership & Team Empowerment: Own and drive the global budgeting process. Partner directly with regional team leads to build realistic operating budgets, translate financial data into plain English, and foster a culture of financial awareness across the company.

- Cash Stewardship & Runway Management: Monitor day-to-day liquidity, manage multi-currency bank accounts, and maintain clear cash flow tracking to safeguard our startup runway.

- Core Financial Operations (AP/AR & Payroll): Direct global Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and group payroll operations with speed, precision, and zero-defect execution.

- Corporate Governance & Register: Maintain the corporate register, statutory filings, shareholder records, and legal compliance across active international jurisdictions.

- External Partner Oversight: Act as the primary manager and coordinator for our regional external bookkeeping, tax, and payroll partners in Australia, the US, and Europe.
