We are HDE Engineers, an established Queensland engineering consultancy delivering practical engineering solutions and project management services across Local Government, Power Generation, Manufacturing and Mining. We’re looking for a motivated Mechanical Project Engineer to join our growing team and continue developing their career.

Our engineers are involved throughout the project lifecycle – from site investigation and developing the initial scope and proposal, through engineering design, coordination and execution.

You’ll work closely with HDE’s Lead Engineers, Designers, clients and contractors to develop practical engineering solutions to real operational challenges. What You’ll Do

You’ll be responsible for coordinating and delivering engineered solutions and engineering projects.

Including:

- Conduct site inspections, develop project scopes, and prepare proposals and estimates.

- Develop practical mechanical engineering solutions for plant upgrades, modifications and new installations.

- Undertake condition assessments, engineering inspections and audits.

- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs across mechanical, structural and electrical disciplines.

- Work with our engineering and design team to produce design and drafting deliverables for your projects.

- Liaise directly with clients, vendors, contractors and site personnel.

- Manage project budgets, schedules, risks, variations and deliverables.

You’re a practical, motivated Engineer who enjoys solving real-world problems and taking on project challenges. You communicate well, work collaboratively and are keen to keep developing your technical and project delivery skills.

What You’ll Bring

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

- 5+ years’ relevant engineering or project experience.

- Experience across either Local Government, Power Generation, Manufacturing or Mining.

- Experience in project scoping, site investigations, design and project delivery.

- Solid communication skills.

- A willingness to visit operational work sites.

Highly Regarded

- Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Nastran, SpaceGass, Plant 3D, Advance Steel or similar engineering software.

- RPEQ registration, or a willingness to work towards registration.

Location & Hours

This position will be based at either HDE’s Rockhampton, Gladstone or Emerald office. Candidates must live locally or be willing to relocate to Central Queensland.

- Monday – Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

- Friday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

- Alternate work arrangements can be discussed.
