The Role

Rosebank College is inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified primary teachers who would like to join our Stage 3 casual teaching pool.

Stage 3 will commence with its inaugural Year 5 cohort in 2027 and expand to include Years 5 and 6 in 2028. This is an exciting opportunity to support an important new chapter in Rosebank’s development as a connected Years 5–12 learning community.

Casual teachers will work alongside the Director of Stage 3 and the Stage 3 teaching team to provide continuity of learning and maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive environment for students.

We welcome applications from experienced Stage 3 teachers, early-career teachers and educators seeking versatile casual teaching opportunities within a values-led Catholic school community.

The Opportunity

Stage 3 casual teachers may be engaged to provide:

- Daily casual teaching cover
- Planned short-term teaching cover
- Support during periods of increased staffing need
- Continuity of learning across the Stage 3 curriculum
- Support for student wellbeing, pastoral care and College activities

Casual teachers will be expected to deliver prepared learning programs or plan appropriate learning experiences when required, maintain established classroom routines and expectations, and work collaboratively with the Stage 3 team.





The frequency and duration of casual engagements will depend on the College's operational needs. Inclusion in the casual teaching pool does not guarantee a minimum number of days or ongoing employment.

About You

We are seeking primary educators who:

- Create positive, respectful and inclusive learning environments
- Deliver engaging and appropriately differentiated learning experiences
- Demonstrate effective classroom management
- Understand the learning, developmental and wellbeing needs of Stage 3 students
- Build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
- Support the Catholic ethos and Good Samaritan Benedictine values of the College
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety and professional conduct

Experience teaching Years 5 or 6 and knowledge of the NSW Primary Curriculum will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Casual Stage 3 teachers will be required to:

- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for Stage 3 students
- Follow provided programs, lesson plans and classroom procedures
- Provide relevant feedback and information to the classroom teacher
- Support literacy and numeracy development across curriculum areas
- Respond appropriately to students’ individual learning and wellbeing needs
- Maintain a positive, orderly and inclusive classroom environment
- Apply the College’s student management and safeguarding practices
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Stage 3, teachers and support staff
- Participate in pastoral care, playground supervision and other duties as required
- Uphold the College’s Code of Conduct, child protection requirements and work health and safety obligations

Essential Requirements

Applicants must hold:

- NESA-approved qualifications in primary education




- Current NESA accreditation and approval to teach in NSW
- A current Working with Children Check
- Sound knowledge of the NSW Primary Curriculum
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- A demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding
- A willingness to support the Catholic ethos and values of Rosebank College

Expression of Interest Process

- A current CV
- A brief cover letter outlining your relevant teaching experience and interest in casual Stage 3 teaching
- Details of your general availability for casual work
- Details of your current NESA accreditation and approval to teach in NSW
- A copy of your current Working with Children Check clearance

Applicants progressing through the process will be required to provide at least two professional referees, including a current or recent supervisor.

Suitable applicants may be invited to attend an interview. Expressions of interest will remain active for the 2027 school year unless otherwise advised.

All casual engagements are subject to satisfactory pre-employment screening, referee checks and child-related employment requirements.
