About the role

JWB Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Rail operatives to join our dynamic team as Labourers, Chippies, Concreters, and Tradespersons. This is a casual position based in the greater Brisbane area, offering flexible work opportunities on an as-needed basis. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality rail construction and maintenance projects, contributing directly to the infrastructure development of Queensland. This role is essential to our operations, providing specialist skills across carpentry, concrete work, and general trades to support our project timelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

- Performing carpentry and formwork tasks, including constructing, assembling, and installing timber structures and frameworks for rail projects.

- Preparing, pouring, finishing, and curing concrete elements in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.

- Operating and maintaining hand and power tools relevant to your trade specialism.

- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accurate project delivery.

- Working collaboratively with other tradespersons, labourers, and site supervisors to meet project deadlines.

- Adhering to all site health and safety protocols, procedures, and legislative requirements.

- Maintaining a clean and secure work environment, including housekeeping and waste management.

- Assisting with material handling, site preparation, and general labour tasks as required.

- Conducting pre-shift inspections of tools and equipment to ensure they are in safe working condition.

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a Labourer, Chippy, Concreter,



or qualified Tradesperson in the construction or rail industry.

- Valid White Card (General Construction Induction Card) or willingness to obtain one.

- Trade qualifications or certifications relevant to carpentry, concrete work, or your specialised trade.

- Must have RIW, SARC and WET cards.

- Demonstrated proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machinery safely and effectively.

- Strong understanding of construction health and safety requirements, including site-specific procedures.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately.

- Excellent physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor conditions and at heights where applicable.

- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

- Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to accommodate casual work schedules.

- Current driver's licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.

- Experience on rail or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
