ABOUT THE ROLE
Title: Disability Support Worker
Location: Rocherlea, Launceston, Tasmania
Salary: $36.22 - $39.53 per hour plus 25% casual loading, super, and salary packaging
Employment Type: Casual
We are looking for passionate and adaptable Disability Support Workers to support children accessing our Children's Services in Launceston.
Our Children's Services provide a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children can build confidence, develop life and social skills, participate in meaningful activities, and create positive connections with others. Through person-centred support, we help children achieve their individual goals while encouraging independence, learning, and fun.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide person-centred and trauma-informed support tailored to each child's unique needs, interests, strengths, and NDIS goals.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:
Respite is a varied and active environment, and you may support clients of different ages, abilities and support needs. This role is suited to someone who is versatile, calm and confident in adapting their approach to suit each person's needs.
Essential:
- Demonstrated experience supporting children with disability, community services, education, allied health, or a similar setting.
- Experience supporting children, including an understanding of and experience applying a trauma-informed approach
- Ability to interpret and implement Behaviour Support Plans, respond effectively to changing situations, and think quickly on your feet.
- Availability to work a minimum of three shifts per week
- Must be available for Active Night Shifts
- Intermediate computer skills (ie: using Microsoft Outlook, documentation in a client management tool/CRM, Carelink +).
- Working with Vulnerable People card with NDIS Workers Screening Check / willingness to obtain
- Valid First Aid & CPR
- Valid Australian working rights
Highly regarded and desirable:
- A relevant qualification in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, Allied Health or Mental Health, or current studies towards one
- Auslan skills or a willingness to learn
- Experience supporting people with complex needs
- Ability to interrupt Behaviour Support plans and think quickly on your feet
- Willingness to work across different locations, environments and client groups
