About the role

As a Portfolio Reporting Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering actionable insights through advanced dashboard reporting that directly informs the financial and strategic management of Sydney Water's projects, programs, and portfolios. This work is central to ensuring effective use of funds, benefits realisation, and well-informed investment decision-making.

A core responsibility of this role is to develop, maintain, and continuously improve high-quality reports and dashboards in Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC). Experience with SAC is essential to support enterprise portfolio reporting, integration, and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of Power BI dashboards that provide timely, accurate, and insightful enterprise portfolio reporting.
- Support the management of day-to-day portfolio reporting activities while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain reporting streams across assigned areas, including pipeline management (Business Cases and Candidates) and Enterprise Portfolio Dependencies.
- Act as a subject matter expert in advanced dashboard reporting, leveraging Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud to enhance reporting capabilities and portfolio insights.
- Review, analyse, and ensure data integration and integrity across reporting platforms, working closely with Corporate, Finance, and EPMO stakeholders to align with enterprise standards.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to automate reporting, improve data quality, and optimise dashboard usability.




- Support the broader Business PMO team by contributing to initiatives that uplift reporting maturity and business effectiveness.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings strong technical capability and a passion for transforming complex portfolio data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making at all levels of the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Advanced experience with Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience working within a PMO in a large, complex organisation, preferably within an asset-intensive and/or regulated environment.
- Demonstrated experience analysing program and portfolio performance.
- Strong knowledge of capital investment and benefits management.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships, particularly in an advisory capacity.
- Experience translating large volumes of raw data into meaningful trends, insights, and Board-level reporting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesise information from multiple data sources into transparent and actionable insights.
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends, issues, and root causes through detailed analysis.
- Excellent organisational skills, robust numerical capability, and experience working with large and complex datasets.
- A commercial mindset combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working within an infrastructure program environment or portfolio/program management office will be highly regarded.
